Art II 

Course Description

This year-long course is designed for students interested in further exploring the basic principles and elements in art. Students will develop their talents through a wide range of media. The first semester will be focused on a guided exploration of media including but not limited to:pencil, chalk and oil pastel, scratchboard, block printing, watercolor, and acrylic. The second semester is "guided studio time" with an emphasis on painting ending with a final student selected project. Projects students may explore include: Yarn Art, Grid Drawing, Scratchboard, Painting, Collage, Etching/Printmaking, Landscapes, and “Pop” Art. Students will focus on communicating ideas at a high level of effectiveness using media of their choice.
